In my travels for Catholic Relief Services, I can’t help but see this, and I can’t help but be grateful for support like yours that helps mothers give a good life to their families. I think of Reina Reposar in the Philippines, who no longer has to worry about her children sleeping out in the open because she received emergency transitional shelter. There is Domitila Castillo in Guatemala, who is teaching her daughter to grow a variety of vegetables so their family can have a well-rounded diet. Or Gertruda Domayo in Tanzania, who participates in a CRS-funded farmer’s project that helps provide for her 1-year-old grand-daughter. And Nisreen, a Syrian mother of two young children, living in a refugee camp in Lebanon where CRS and its partners provide essentials such as blankets, stoves and fuel to keep families warm.
