South Korea’s Struggle
With a MERS case count up to 18, and nearly 700 people isolated for possible infection, South Korea is weighing tough measures to counter the disease’s spread.

A travel ban is possible for the quarantined 700 after a man broke a voluntary quarantine to travel to Hong Kong and China last week.

All South Korean cases are linked to man who returned from Bahrain via Qatar on May 20. But South Korean officials expressed concern about the apparently high rates of transmission: "We must find the reason for the high rate of transmission unlike in the cases of other countries," President Park Geun-hye said in a meeting today.
