When the global financial crisis began, many vowed to bring new regulation to bear on the excessive risk-taking and irresponsibility of Wall Street investment banks and hedge funds. With the U.S. economy still in a fragile recovery phase, Kevin P. Gallagher says regulators are already letting Wall Street return to old habits — with global consequences.
The U.S. economy continues to have a hard time recovering from the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression.
