Maybe he just thinks supporting Israel is important right now. Remember that Israel agreed to the creation of a Paletinian self governing entity in Gaza only with the stipulation that they had the right to take the land back if the Palestinians couldn't or wouldn't stop the terrorist groups that were using it as a base to attack Israelis civilians.
