Key Nations Could Broaden Nuclear Offer to Iran

Key Nations Could Broaden Nuclear Offer to Iran

Iran could receive relief from tough economic penalties if it accepted tighter atomic restrictions under a potential new multilateral bid to resolve an entrenched nuclear dispute with the Persian Gulf regional power, Western envoys said in comments reported by Reuters on Tuesday.
Six key governments are examining the possibility of seeking a broader compromise with Iran in new discussions that might take place with the nation following next month's U.S. presidential election, according to the insiders. High-level Iranian diplomats so far have met on three occasions this year with counterparts from the powers -- China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States -- in a bid to address global fears that Iran's atomic efforts are geared toward development of a nuclear-weapon capability. Tehran insists its nuclear ambitions are purely peaceful.http://www.nti.org/gsn/article/key-nations-could-broaden-nuclear-offer-iran/
