Sister
Irene is the project leader for The Refuge Center of the Divine Heart
in Haiti, a center that provides religious education classes and meets
the basic needs of the community. After receiving her first few
donations from MISSIO, she responded with this sweet note of thanks.
“I have to tell you a little story.
This morning when we woke up it was pouring, and throughout prayers, the
same. When we got ready to leave for Mass, it became impossible. Our
walking distance to the church is 1 hour every day; we made it in 35
minutes. I had my rosary in one hand, my flight light and umbrella in
the other, my backpack filled with work under my raincoat. It is
extremely dark and the mud is unbelievable. We arrive at Mass and when I
went to receive Holy Communion, I felt this joy beyond compare, and I
knew that Jesus was happy with some souls. Because we have electricity
only every 2 days and only at night, I cannot work in the convent. The
priest is very generous so he lets me work in his office every day after
Mass. When I opened my email, I found a note from MISSIO stating that
your loving heart donated $100 to our mission... I came to understand
how Our Lord in His Great Mercy connects hearts together for His Holy
Work and for His Greater Glory. A heartfelt thank you for your loving
and caring heart. I love you. Remained Blessed In His Great Love.”
