Since
1964, Damien Social Welfare Center in Dhanbad, India, has served
patients with Hansen’s Disease (leprosy). In addition to providing
medical care, treatment, and housing for those who suffer from this
devastating disease, this center works to help the families of those who
are affected.
Over the years, they have found that it is
young girls who are left most vulnerable as their parents suffer from
Hansen’s Disease. These girls are often targeted and easily exploited.
They have few opportunities to receive a formal education due to their
circumstances.
Father Pani and those serving with him at
the center have created a program that trains young women to
become nursing assistants and teaches them practical life skills. They
are asking for your support to help keep this innovative program
available for the girls in their community.
With just a few more donations, this project will be fully funded!
Will you give generously today?
