Wishing you a Blessed Christmas

Dear Friends,

Today, Christians throughout the world commemorate the revelation of the Christ child - God Incarnate in the holy infant of Bethlehem.  This awe-filled event demonstrates the extent to which God will go to manifest his mercy to the world, becoming like us in all things but sin, and bestowing upon us the gift of sharing in his own divine life.

On the occasion of the Church's great solemnity celebrating the revelation of Christ's holy birth, please know that I hold all the friends of Word on Fire deeply in my heart and in my prayers.  The gift of God in Christ instills in all Christians gratitude for everything that the Lord in his mercy offers to us.  In this season of Christmas, let our hearts, filled with gratitude, also be filled with generosity and love, particularly for those among us who are forsaken and vulnerable.  Let us share with others the joy of the Gospel that we have received, and in doing so, cast the fire of Christ's warm and radiant light into the shadows of this world, announcing to all the grace and peace that comes with the revelation of the true and only King.

May the blessings brought into the world by the Christ Child be with you today and throughout the New Year.  Merry Christmas!
