Former Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz dies in prison at 79:
After
turning himself in to the American occupation forces, Aziz was charged
and tried in a kangaroo court set up by the Americans and presided
over by the Shia religious parties that had previously tried to
assassinate him. He was sentenced to death in 2010, but the government
did not move to execute him.
