Israel Air Force didn’t see any need to protect Tel Aviv suburb from rocket strike

"Damage control" seems to be a wholly inadequate description for the current PR effort aimed at getting the FAA decision reversed. It's more like theater of the absurd.

Following yesterday’s rocket strike that resulted in most foreign airlines cancelling flights to Ben Gurion International Airport, the Israeli government says they let the rocket through without intercepting it because they could see it wasn’t going to hit the airport. http://warincontext.org/2014/07/23/israel-air-force-didnt-see-any-need-to-protect-tel-aviv-suburb-from-rocket-strike/
