Stephen was stoned to death in 36 AD. As we celebrate St. Stephen’s feast day on the day after Christmas, it is a reminder that Christ is the only person who “came into the world to die,” as Ven. Fulton Sheen remarked in his Life of Christ. St. Stephen was the first to conform to Him in His death.
