Marcella of Rome, the Woman who Taught St. Jerome | Jack Hartjes: Marcella of Rome was a student and teacher of the Christian faith--unusual for an age when women were not expected to teach men. She kept up a long correspondence with her friend St. Jerome. She died during the Visigoth invasion of Rome.
