In
2004, Pope St. John Paul II wrote a letter to all priests on Holy
Thursday that was full of inspiration and encouragement. He reminded
us, “There can be no Eucharist without the priesthood, just as there can
be no priesthood without the Eucharist.” The beloved Saint went on to
say,
“Vocations are indeed a gift from God for which we must pray unceasingly.”
Today, we offer our prayers of thanksgiving
for all those men who have given their lives to serve the Church and,
as St. John Paul II instructed, we pray for many more to respond to the
call.
