EBOLA
New Model Predicts End in Sight
The Ebola epidemic should be end by mid-spring, predicts a new mathematical model of the way the disease spreads created by Lucas Valdez from the National University of Mar del Plata in Argentina and colleagues.
The team studied human movement and anti-Ebola strategies, focusing on data from Liberia. The researchers say their methods can be applied to Guinea and Sierra Leone as soon as there is good enough data to work with.
The Quote: “One reason to have faith in this prediction is that the model accurately predicts the evolution of the disease as it has occurred so far.”
