Relax and let your heart be touched
by Sr. Kathryn J. Hermes, FSP
We know we were made by God for eternity, because our hearts seek meaning in whatever experience we are undergoing. In the book The Present Moment, author Louis-Marie Parent offers one woman's take on it: when asked how she could remain in good humor in the most varied of circumstances she said that she owed this to her mother. "We were a large family and when we ran into difficulties she would say: My children, pay no attention to problems, they are travelers: they never stay in the same place for very long. Tomorrow they will be gone. Therefore, smile and be patient."
This may seem a bit simplistic, I suppose, but it was one woman's way of lifting her children's spirits so that they could open wide to the winds of hope.
God never lets go of those who look to him for support.
We are in this life together to help each other. We invite you to participate in our Journey of Discovery October Webathon. Then below we share new releases from Pauline Books and Media, knowing how helpful books can be as companions on the journey of faith.
The Journey of Discovery October Novena Webathon begins this week.
During this October Novena, the sisters will lead you through nine days of prayer, share with you our mission, offer you opportunities to share with us your prayer intentions and share in our mission through your contributions and support.
Through prayer, images, video clips, music and more we will take you on this marvelous adventure… one that will be uniquely YOUR OWN…. as you see how the Lord will invite you to partner with us in making the Gospel come alive for our Media Generation!
Our financial goal for each day will be to raise over $10,000 which is needed to give stability and support to this incredibly necessary Media Apostolate. We are all about planting seeds… seeds of hope, seeds of the Gospel, seeds for growth and change in our world.
Each day will have seven “moments” of prayer, videos, and discovery between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. We invite you to join us as often as you can. Click here to sign up to follow the novena by email so you don't miss this great opportunity.
All those who contribute will be able to sent in the names of their loved ones to be remembered in our nine Masses offered for the deceased loved ones and friends of the sisters in November.
