International Day of the Girl

weekly prayer request
International Day of the Girl
In July Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban after advocating for girls' education, addressed world leaders at the United Nations on her 16th birthday.
"Let us pick up our books and our pens. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first," said Yousafzai in her address.
Oct. 11 is the International Day of the Girl, with special emphasis this year on education. Though we have made positive strides, there is still much to do to foster equality in education.

Please pray
Lord, we thank you for courageous girls like Malala who advocate for those without a voice. Help us support and advocate for our girls in their educational dreams. Please extend your protection over any child who faces persecution in her pursuit of education. Amen.

Blessings,
