China plays it cool on Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan is a key component of Beijing's "go out" strategy towards Central Asia. Two border crossings connect the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region with Kyrgyzstan, which has replaced Kazakhstan as the number one export market for Xinjiang.
