South Korea learned its successful Covid-19 strategy from a previous coronavirus outbreak: MERS - Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists: Both South Korea and the United States reported their first Covid-19 cases on January 20. While the situation appeared dire for Korea, the coronavirus outbreak appears to be ebbing. Credit the lessons the country learned from a 2015 outbreak of MERS, another coronavirus-caused disease.
