TODAY on Universal Children’s Day, MISSIO invites you to take a moment to reflect on these statistics: One billion children are living in poverty and twenty-two thousand of these will die today as a result. 400 million school-aged children cannot read or write. Each year, more than one billion children from the ages of 2–17 experience some type of violence. MISSIO project leaders are trying to change that, bringing food, water, education, healthcare, safety, and comfort to children living in the world's most vulnerable communities. TODAY on Universal Children's Day, join MISSIO project leaders. Consider:  Providing disaster relief to abandoned children in India who need basic necessities after their city was devastated by a flood.  Bring help to children and families in South Sudan or Ethiopia. Equip children in Cameroon who have lost their caregivers to HIV/AIDS to learn how to be fish farmers. These skills will provide them with a brighter future.  Help two devoted Franciscan Sisters to care for 35 orphans in their care in Lancaster, PA.  And more.
