Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to October 4, the Feast Day of
St. Francis of Assisi, Catholics in the Philippines will observe a

As
he prepares for his 31st Apostolic Journey this Wednesday, Pope Francis
sent a message to the people of Madagascar, one of three African
countries he will visit. (He will also travel to Mozambique and
Mauritius.) Thanking the people of the island African nation for their
prayers, he said also: "When I am in Madagascar, even if I can visit
only a few places, with prayer I will reach everyone, and I will implore
