Blessed Stanley Rother, Martyr, Has His First Feast Day | Jack Hartjes: Fr. Stanley Rother, a priest from a small town in Oklahoma, served in a mission parish in the highlands of Southwestern Guatemala. It was during some of the most violent years of Guatemala's civil war. Priests and many Catholics were among the targets of Government forces. Fr. Rother was martyred in 1981.
