Bankrupt PG&E plans $130 million in bonuses for thousands of employees - SFChronicle.com

Bankrupt PG&E plans $130 million in bonuses for thousands of employees - SFChronicle.com: Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. employees are eligible for a combined $130 million in 2018 performance bonuses the utility wants approved as part of the bankruptcy process it entered Tuesday, court papers show. PG&E sought permission to pay the cash bonuses through its short-term incentive plan because the bankruptcy court now has say over all the company’s major decisions. About 14,000 employees are eligible for bonuses to be offered in March for 2018 job performance, PG&E said in one of many filings on its first day seeking protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The average payout is expected to be about $13,000, though individual amounts range from about $5,000 to $90,000, PG&E said.
