The tallest Catholic church in the world is in Africa: One might assume that the tallest Catholic church in the world would be among the great spired, Gothic cathedrals of Europe. Until recently, that was indeed the case. At 516 feet tall, the Cologne Cathedral towered over every other Catholic church, and, in fact, was the tallest building in the world from 1880 to 1884.
