Early Monday
morning, President Donald J. Trump signed a presidential memorandum
withdrawing the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
TPP is a regional trade agreement
among 12 Asia-Pacific countries that combines trade and investment
liberalization with high-standard rules and disciplines in areas like
state-owned enterprises, labor, and intellectual property rights.
President Trump has said that a reorientation of U.S.
trade policy would be a top priority of his administration, with
today’s action marking the beginning of his new agenda.https://www.csis.org/analysis/president-trump-fulfills-day-1-promise-abandon-tpp?utm_source=Members&utm_campaign=832d4611f9-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_01_23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e842221dc2-832d4611f9-137673777
