Toward More Wars in the Middle East

Howard Hart, a retired senior officer in the CIA, has just written a well-researched, lengthy article on the growing U.S. intervention in the Middle East and its implications.  (I am grateful to Haven Pell for sharing it with me.) 

Mr. Hart's article is in three parts: (1) the Syrian crisis and U.S. involvement in it; (2) the prospect of war with Iran over its nuclear program; and (3) the requirements for a no-fly zone in Syria.  He has added his own pointed comments to the narrative.  You may or may not find Mr. Hart's views agreeable or persuasive but the article stands on its own as a useful compendium of relevant information and analysis.  It rewards careful reading.  The text follows:
