THE ECONOMY SUMMIT 360 Degrees: What Will it Take to Fix the US Economy?

Dear Friends & Colleagues:

We have assembled an array of economic voices to share their views on what should be done to fix the US economy and how to respond to the fragilities of the global economic system.  Former Fed Chairman
PAUL VOLCKER will anchor a conference that will include intellectual opponent and Fed expert ALLAN MELTZER; former Secretaries of the Treasury ROBERT RUBIN and LAWRENCE SUMMERS; former FDIC Chair SHEILA BAIR; 2008 Ron Paul campaign economic advisor PETER SCHIFF; former national economic advisors to President Clinton and George W. Bush respectively LAURA TYSON and LAWRENCE LINDSEY; National Economic Advisor to President Obama GENE SPERLING; former McCain for President domestic policy chief and former Congressional Budget Office director DOUGLAS HOLTZ-EAKIN; former Pennsylvania Governor ED RENDELL and others.

2012 is a year of choice — and given the priority Americans are giving the US economy, this round up of diverse perspectives may be one of the most robustly varied in Washington this year.  The Atlantic will also be releasing its April 2012 Economics issue at this event.  Lunch will be served — and very much hope that you can join us.

All best,
