Dr.
Atilio Rivera is a doctor who has spent much of his working life
serving refugee populations around the world. Today, he serves at the
clinic where Cesar was born. He described the situation for people here:
“They all lack the very basic human needs – food, water, sanitation,
and shelter and a sense of safety and belonging. Refugees and migrants
live in constant fear of getting sick because they do not have access to
healthcare. They worry about feeding their children, and they worry
about the future.”
