Archbishop Fulton Sheen To Be 'Blessed'

During his time as National Director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, one of the Pope's four mission societies, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen referred to the missions of the Church as his "greatest love." This past weekend Pope Francis declared one new saint and approved eight decrees bringing a woman and seven men closer to sainthood. Among them: Archbishop Sheen. THE AMAZON The Church cannot remain silent

Marawi in the Philippines was reduced to rubble. As a result of the fighting in that city in 2017, the Christian community of about 20,000 was scattered among the half a million who fled. "We remain close to the people, encouraging the hope of starting a long journey towards recovery and reconstruction... working for reconciliation and peace-building," said the Redemptorist missionaries who continue their service there.
