| Have you heard the music in the air?
You
have, if you've ever attended one of the Daughters of St. Paul Choir's
Christmas concerts! This past weekend the sisters presented two concerts
at our Motherhouse chapel here in Boston, and last week they were in
Manhattan and Staten Island. And there's more: this week they're filling
hearts with Christmas hope and happiness in St. Louis and Cleveland
before wrapping up with one more concert in our chapel here in Boston
again.

And
this year was particularly special, with Sr. Julia Darrenkamp playing
the harp for two pieces, the Annunciation Carol and Suo Gan/Finlandia.
What a wonderful treat! Our photographer caught her tuning the harp just before the Boston concert.

But
there's more to the concerts than the music, however beautiful it might
be. "It's not just coming in to sing Christmas carols," says Sr. Nancy
Usselman, one of the choir members.
"There's
always more of a message of wanting to give. A message of hope—because
there's more to life than all the crazy things that happen in the world.
It's really something more supernatural."
For
20 years now the choir has provided that transcendence through what you
might think of as the "soundtrack" to the Christmas season, and has
reached thousands of people either attending the concerts or just
listening to the choir's CDs while trimming the tree at home.

If
you missed the concerts, or if you live in a place where we're not able
to offer these moments of Christmas music, joy, and inspiration—we have
good news for you! This year for the first time we're offering the concert on a limited-release CD so you can share in it as well!
