Chu seeks new system for managing nuclear waste
The U.S. needs to go beyond the Yucca Mountain project in Nevada and come up with a new plan for storing or disposing of nuclear waste, Energy Secretary Steven Chu said. He also wants a blue-ribbon panel of experts to look into long-term waste management rather than invest on constructing a waste-storage site. Reuters
