CATO Keeping an Eye on Iran

Keeping an Eye on Iran
Iran has test-fired missiles the past two days, including long-range missiles capable of reaching Israel and U.S. troops in the region. The White House and both presidential candidates have condemned the tests, and some analysts have renewed their calls for preemptive strikes against Iran. Cato scholar Justin Logan has long cautioned that "The consequences of a preventive war with Iran could easily be worse than what has occurred after the preventive war in Iraq. Neither the Bush administration nor the country should seek to make the same mistake twice."
