Here is an interesting video of Major Paula Broadwell talking about her God, or at least, Cult leader (his Club). I will note she was cheating on her push-ups and not going down sufficiently, but what else would you expect? She refers to intelligence organizations at about the 9:40 mark as the “organs.” There are certainly similarities to the former Soviet system in our growing national security state that we can see so I guess it is appropriate that we adopt their terminology as well.  

 

I retire from my current active duty assignment with the Army as a Guantanamo Defense Counsel at the end of this month. Unfortunately, these sorts of people, with careers built on smoke and mirrors and elaborate frauds even exceeding those of Goldman Sachs, let alone Bernie Madoff, are far too typical in the military. Broadwell personifies here the self-worship of the military that has become the norm since 2001, leading to the evolution away from the the primacy of the civil authorities over the military authorities that our country was founded upon. Exemplifying this change is the Army adopting as their standard dress uniform for everyday wear the gaudy uniform that had been reserved only for ceremonial occasions. With that,  they are indistinguishable from any Imperial Officer Corps as would be seen under any typical tinpot military dictatorship (or the typical parking garage attendant in Rosslyn, VA).
