About Red Ink

I wrote RED INK for people who know that the federal budget and the deficit are important, but have never found time to read to the end of a Wall Street Journal story on the subject. It's a short book -- only 150 pages, not counting the notes and the index.  It's my attempt to sit down with the reader and say: Here's what you need to know.  How did the US government get to this point? Where does the money come from? Where does the money go? And why the current trends are unsustainable.
