Should we? Obama (and all other Western powers for that matter) as of yet have proven that they will only act if they could find profit from supporting one side against the other. Western governments supported the Bahraini royals in their crimes against the protesters there and only acted in Libya after some oil agreement was made with the transitional council. There was failure to act against Mubarak or even say a word until his departure became certain and in Syria over 800 people had to be killed before we heard the anything serious from the US government. Mind you, this all comes with the backdrop of full financial, military and political support to most of the region's dictators by Western powers in the past few decades. You'll have to excuse the Arabs when they can't trust the Western governments (not to mention the Iraq war and the Israeli fiasco).
